We believe that great music deserves to be heard, regardless of marketing budgets or industry connections. DMforAirplay was created to discover and promote incredible independent musicians from around the globe.
Our Mission
DMforAirplay exists to bridge the gap between undiscovered musical talent and appreciative audiences. We scour submissions from across the world to find the most compelling, authentic, and innovative music being created outside the mainstream industry.
Each episode, we select tracks from independent artists, provide context about their work and journey, play their music in its entirety, and offer thoughtful commentary that helps listeners connect more deeply with the art and artists.
Our goal is simple: to be the platform we wish existed for every musician who has ever created something beautiful and wondered, "Will anyone ever hear this?"

Co-Host & Producer
Alex has been a passionate advocate for independent music for over a decade. With a background in audio engineering and community radio, they bring technical expertise and a keen ear for discovering hidden musical gems. When not recording the podcast, Alex runs sound at local venues and mentors aspiring sound engineers.
Jordan Chen
Co-Host & Music Director
Jordans musical journey began as a bassist in several indie bands before transitioning into music journalism and broadcasting. Their encyclopedic knowledge of underground music scenes around the world helps DMforAirplay connect with diverse artists and sounds. Jordan is also a vinyl collector and hosts monthly listening parties in their hometown.
Our Journey
The Beginning
DMforAirplay was conceived as a passion project between two friends who wanted to give voice to undiscovered musical talent.
First Episode
We launched our first episode featuring five independent artists from three different countries.
Radio Partnership
We began our partnership with Edge Radio to bring independent music to terrestrial radio.
Growth & Recognition
Our audience grew to over 10,000 monthly listeners, and we were featured in several independent music publications.
Expanding Horizons
With submissions from over 40 countries, DMforAirplay truly became a global platform for independent musicians.
